Acco
The deep water port of Acco was used by fisherman and merchants way back in the Bronze Era. The crusaders fortified its walls and the Muslims destroyed it and rebuilt the city. In 1799 Acco was the only city in the world that did not surrender to Napoleonic troops. Akhmed el Jazar, an Albanian soldier who reached the top was responsible for that achievement and for the impressive mosque is the heart of the old city. The tour in Acco starts in the mosque and the Knights Halls, climbing the city walls, roaming in the mosques, synagogues, and churches, Khans and Khamam, the narrow alleys, the galleries and the bazaars and ends at the fine fish restaurants overlooking the ancient port. |

Old Gesher
At the junction of the Jordan and Yarmook rivers near the old dam used by the Rothenberg Power Station, Kibbutz Gesher and the National Electricity Company built an exciting tourist site that follows the historical project of "The Old Man from na'araiem", Pinhas Rothenberg. The story of Naraiem began in 1922 when Rothenberg, young engineer decided to use the Yarmook stormy water to produce electricity for the people of Israel and Jordan. In impossible conditions and after floods that almost destroyed the project in June 1932, the first (and last) hydro-electric power station in the region was launched. |

Bet Shean
Ancient Bet Shean probably got its name from the pagan god: Shean, whom the local inhabitants worshiped 4000 years ago. Eighteen layers exposed during archeological digs confirmed the strategic importance of the city that was mentioned in Egyptian scripts. The location at the junction of the "Via Maris" and the Jordan River drew kings and rulers that added it to their list of conquest. The city that was held by the Cannaites was taken by the Phillistines in the days of Saul, the king hwo tried to conquer it and was killed on the Gilboa Mountains. King David succeeded in that mission; later it became a helenistic city, Skitopolis, which became the capital of the Galilee and Golan. Visiting ancient Bet Shean is an intriguing experience that every archeological lover should not miss. The temples, the theatre and amphitheatre, the basilica, the magnificent decorated pillars street, the nimpheon a public fountain, the spa, the mosaics are amazing. |

Meggido
Twenty archeological layers found in the mound tell of strategic importance of the city-castle that controlled the east-west pass from Egypt to Syria. The interesting tour through the site climbs the mound, visits the amazing underground water system and follows the endless batties between the Egyptians, Canaaites, Assyrians, Jews, Crussaders, Muslims, British and Turks. According to Egyptian scripts found in the Karnak Temple, 4000 years ago, the harshest bloody battle that took the name Armagedon, took place around the city walls. Many believe that the last battle upon earth between the sons of light and the sons of dark, 'Gog and Magog', will be held here. |
